Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
Acceptance
By accessing or using PromptTrace, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
What PromptTrace Is
PromptTrace is a free educational platform for learning AI security concepts, including prompt injection, RAG poisoning, and tool exploitation. All labs operate in sandboxed environments against real LLMs.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use PromptTrace only for lawful, educational purposes. Specifically:
- Use the platform to learn about AI security concepts and techniques.
- Do not attempt to attack, compromise, or disrupt the platform infrastructure itself.
- Do not use techniques learned here to attack systems you do not have explicit authorization to test.
- Do not automate interactions with the labs in a way that creates excessive load (rate limits apply).
- Do not create multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboard rankings.
Lab Environments
Labs are sandboxed educational environments. Tool calls within labs use in-memory fakes - no real files, databases, or external services are accessed. You are interacting with real LLMs, but all side effects are simulated.
Accounts
You sign in via GitHub or Google OAuth. You are responsible for your account. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
Intellectual Property
Learning content, lab designs, and the Context Trace system are the intellectual property of PromptTrace. You may reference and share concepts learned on the platform, but may not reproduce the lab infrastructure or content at scale without permission.
Disclaimer
PromptTrace is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not responsible for how you apply the techniques learned on this platform. LLM responses may be inaccurate or unexpected - this is part of the learning experience.
Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
